NORTHEAST WISCONSIN REGIONAL HAZMAT TEAM

The Northeast Wisconsin Regional Hazmat Team is one of eight state teams designated to assist counties and local fire departments dealing with chemical emergencies.

In June of 2000, Oshkosh Fire Department and Appleton Fire Department consolidated to form the Northeast Wisconsin Regional Hazmat Response Team. (NEWRHT)

The Team is under the leadership of Chiefs Neil Cameron (AFD) and Tim Franz (OFD). Appleton Fire Department in the administrative lead for the team. The cities of Appleton and Oshkosh which were previously leads in separate teams have combined to make a single team covering the largest geographic area of all the state teams. Because of the large area covered, chemical assessment teams (CAT) consisting of the Marinette Fire Department and Brown County Hazmat Team have been designated to assist in the initial response to a chemical incident.

The Northeast Wisconsin Regional Hazmat Team is committed to reaching out to all communities within our region. We welcome the opportunity to visit, perform training or answer questions! Contact us for more information.
