Station 14

Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting Station

Station 14 is located at 2050 Knapp St and is the home to Quint 14, and Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) trucks 114, 214 and 314.

Station 14 protects the City of Oshkosh's south side. Duties include fire suppression, first responder, and the airport ARFF trucks. An officer, equipment operator and firefighter staffs Station 14.

Oshkosh Fire Department in cooperation with Wittman Regional Airport operates the airport's ARFF trucks. Incidents requiring the ARFF units are requested through the airport control tower. Quint 14 is placed out of service and station personnel respond in ARFF 114 and 314. Depending on the severity of the call, additional fire companies are dispatched from the City of Oshkosh. In the event engine 14 is dispatched to an incident in the city, a designated fire company will move up to Station 14 to provide airport protection.

Wittman Field is also home to the Experimental Aviation Association (EAA). Each year the EAA hold its annual Air Venture fly in. Making Wittman field the busiest airport in the world during the week of the convention. Thousands of experimental, vintage, commercial and military planes make there way here to participate in the convention.

Wisconsin Air National Guard ARFF units supplement the airport's fire protection during the convention.
