Algoma Boulevard District
Traditionally known as the "Gold
Coast" of Oshkosh, this District was originally home to some of the City's
wealthiest families, many of whom were associated with the lumber and wood
products industries. The District also contains the home of Jesse Jack
Hooper, a woman whose dedication to the suffrage movement is attributed to the
State being the first to ratify the suffrage amendment. The majority of
home are of Queen Anne and Period Revival styles. The District also
contains the only Frank Lloyd Wright designed home in the City.
