City Manager's Goals for 2009

City of Oshkosh Manager Mark Rohloff

The City Manager, Mark A. Rohloff, is the Chief Executive Officer for the City of Oshkosh and is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the activities of the municipality by interpreting the City Council determined policy, coordinating departmental efforts, handling citizen inquiry and complaints, screening and preparing agenda materials, and recommending legislation and policy matters. City Manager Rohloff has over 25 years of experience in local government management. Mark's background has included areas as diverse as public works, economic development, public finance, organizational development, and long range planning.

Prior to coming to Oshkosh, Mr. Rohloff was Town Administrator for Grand Chute, Wisconsin; City Administrator of Berlin, Wisconsin; Assistant City Manager of Rancho Palos Verdes, California; Senior Budget Analyst for Long Beach, California; and Management Assistant in Fort Collins, Colorado. He received his Bachelors Degree in Urban Affairs and Certificate in Business Administration from Saint Louis University, and has Master of Public Administration from the University of Kansas.

Mark credits his background in cities of various sizes and diverse makeup with giving him the ability to see many sides to an issue. He welcomes varying points of view to help forge better decisions for Oshkosh. "Throughout my career, one thing I have learned is that the public has incredible perspective into their community", said Mr. Rohloff. "For that reason, I enjoy listening to residents tell me their thoughts on issues related to the city. If you ever run into me, please be sure to introduce yourself and share with me your thoughts on what we can do to make Oshkosh a better place to live, work, and do business."
