Riders with Disabilities

Oshkosh Transit System offers paratransit service to individuals with disabilities within the City of Oshkosh. This is a demand response sedan or van service provided through a contract with Cabulance and City Cab. You must apply for an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) card with the American Red Cross office to receive benefits. You will need to certify in writing that you have a qualifying disability that prevents you from using the city bus service and hence need an ADA card. This process may require you to get a medical examination by a medical provider designated by the City.

To apply for an ADA card, you can contact the American Red Cross office at 231-3590 for further information and for an ADA application. Or you can download the ADA application here. Once you have completed the application, please mail it to:

American Red Cross
515 S. Washburn St., Suite 201
Oshkosh, WI 54904

You are entitled to several benefits with an ADA card. The card allows you to ride OTS buses for half the cash fare. If you can not use the bus for your trip, Dial-A-Ride ADA service with Oshkosh City Cab (taxi sedans) is provided to ambulatory riders during the hours the Oshkosh Transit System is in service (Monday-Saturday 6:15 a.m. to 6:10 p.m.). If confined to a wheelchair, you can also use Cabulance (lift-equipped vans) during the same hours. Either service can be used for any purpose you choose as long as it is used for travel within the city limits of Oshkosh. Dial-A-Ride and Cabulance services are also available during the hours the Oshkosh Transit System is not in operation (Holidays, Sundays and Monday-Saturday 6:15 a.m. to 6:10 p.m.).
