Other Fare Information
(Only applicable to the Oshkosh Transit System Buses, Oshkosh to Neenah Route (Route #10), and EAA Special Event Route sections above)
- Every time you board the bus, you must pay the cash fare or present the driver with a pass, token or transfer.
- You must have exact change when paying the cash fare. Unfortunately, OTS drivers do not carry change. Passengers must deposit their own cash into the farebox. Passengers who do not have exact fare may deposit cash in excess of the proper fare, and the driver, when witnessing this, will issue a receipt that can be presented at the Transit Office for a refund.
- Monthly passes are good for unlimited rides on routes within the city during the calendar month printed on the front of the pass. They are available for purchase two weeks before the start of each month.
- Monthly, 3-Month, and Punch Passes can also be purchased by mailing the full payment and a self-addressed, stamped envelope to the Oshkosh Transit System, 926 Dempsey Trail, Oshkosh, WI 54902. Acceptable payment includes a check or money order for the full amount of the fare requested. Checks should be made out to “Oshkosh Transit System”.
- Twenty (20) ride punch passes can be purchased from all drivers and at the Transit Office. There is no expiration date, just present it to the driver and they will punch it once for city routes and 2 times for Neenah Route. On the twentieth ride, the driver will collect the card. If you want to transfer, ask for a transfer when presenting the punch pass.
Transfers
(Only applicable to the Oshkosh Transit System Buses, Oshkosh to Neenah Route (Route #10), and EAA Special Event Route sections above)
What is a transfer? A transfer is a receipt issued to a passenger by the bus driver after a fare is paid. A transfer is needed when you cannot get to your final destination on the first bus you board and need to transfer to a second bus to access another route. Transfers are free, but must be used on the next bus leaving from the downtown Transit Center (110 Pearl Ave.) or the Shopko transfer point on Route 9. Any passenger may ask for a transfer when boarding the bus after the fare is paid. You should also tell the driver which bus route you will be transferring to.
Where can I transfer? Transfers are accepted at the downtown Transit Center and between Route 9 buses at Shopko.
Notes: 1) The Route 10 bus will accept transfers at the Transit Center when the rider’s destination is South of County Road Y. Rides from Oshkosh to Neenah must pay the Route 10 fare. 2) OTS will honor late transfers when normal service is interrupted.
