The Osborn House, located at 840 Osborn Avenue, is believed to be the oldest surviving home in Oshkosh.  Built in 1844 by Joseph Osborn, it has been altered significantly since construction.  Mr. Osborn was one of the first area land surveyors and opened the first abstract office in the City.  In addition, he published the first history of the County with Martin Mitchel in 1856 and the first map of the County..
