December 1, 2023 First day for candidates to circulate nomination papers for the 2024 Spring Election

December 22, 2023 Deadline (5:00 p.m.) for incumbents not seeking reelection to file Notification of Noncandidacy (EL-163) with City Clerk

January 2, 2024 Deadline (5:00 p.m.) for candidates to file nomination papers, declaration of candidacy, and campaign registration statements for the 2024 Spring Election

February 6, 2024 Absentee/Early Voting Begins for Spring Primary (location and times to come)

CURBSIDE VOTING

If you require an ADA accommodation to vote in person absentee at City Hall prior to the election or at your polling location on Election Day, please call the City Clerk’s Department at (920) 236-5011.


REGISTERING TO VOTE

IN PERSON: Register in the municipal clerk's office up to the Friday before the election. Proof of residency is required when registering. You must have lived at your present location for 28 days preceding the election. Clerk’s Office City Hall, Monday-Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m

AT THE POLLING PLACE ON ELECTION DAY: If you wish to register to vote at your polling place, you must bring proof that you have lived at your present location for 28 days preceding the election. For purposes of voter registration, a form of identification constitutes acceptable proof of residence if it includes your current name and current City of Oshkosh address.

Absentee Ballot FAQ

Please Note: If you are not already registered, you will need to register to vote before an absentee ballot can be sent to you. A new registration is required anytime you move or change your name.

IN PERSON: You may request and mark an absentee ballot in person at the City Clerk's Office. Absentee voting in the City Clerk's Office is the two weeks prior to an election. The deadline is the close of business on the Friday before the election. Also absentee voters in the City Clerk's Office must present the same type of photo ID required at the polls. Acceptable forms of photo ID can be found below.

BY MAIL: Download the Application for an Absentee Ballot, please include a photocopy of your photo identification when requesting an absentee by mail – The request must be received before 5:00p.m. the Thursday before the election.
