Our Firefighters are the most valuable resource that the department has. Every day they get the opportunity to make a difference in someone's life. Our firefighters are dedicated professionals who create a progressive, diverse and exceptional fire department.

  • Hazardous Materials Response

Minimum Requirements

To join the oshkosh fire department, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be at least eighteen years of age
  • Be a Citizen or Permanent Resident of the United States
  • Have a high school diploma/g.e.d.
  • Have a valid driver’s license
  • Be able to speak and write the English language
  • Be certified as a:
    • Fire Fighter I
    • Fire Fighter II
    • EMT-Paramedic

  1. Fill out an application
  2. Successfully complete the testing process
  3. Interview with the department
  4. Successfully complete a:
    • Background investigation
    • Medical physical exam and drug test
    • Psychological exam
